Straight answers about what FinDock is, how it fits with Salesforce, and how it handles payments, reconciliation, and security.
Platform & Salesforce fit
3 questions
What is FinDock?
FinDock is a 100% Salesforce-native payments platform. It brings the full payment lifecycle — processing, recovery, and reconciliation — into Salesforce, so payment data lives alongside customer, donor, or member data instead of in a separate system.
How does FinDock work with Salesforce?
FinDock runs natively inside Salesforce, across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Nonprofit Cloud for Fundraising, and the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP). There is no separate payments system to log into — payment records, statuses, and history appear directly on Salesforce records.
What is the FinDock Payment API?
The FinDock Payment API is the toolkit for building custom payment journeys on top of FinDock — from mobile apps to Experience Cloud portals. Every transaction made through it updates Salesforce in real time for accurate reconciliation.
Payments & processing
7 questions
What payment methods does FinDock support?
FinDock supports cards, digital wallets (PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay), direct debit schemes (SEPA, BACS, CH-DD/LSV+), and local bank transfer methods such as iDEAL, plus one-time and recurring payments. Exact availability depends on the connected payment processor.
Which payment processors and banks does FinDock integrate with?
FinDock connects to a wide range of global and local payment service providers, including Stripe, PayPal, Mollie, and GoCardless, plus direct bank connections for reconciliation — see the full list on the factsheet. New processors can be added through the FinDock Payment API without custom development.
Do I need a separate contract with a payment processor?
Yes. FinDock customers hold their own contract directly with their chosen payment processor. FinDock connects that processor to Salesforce; it does not process payments on its own or sit between you and your PSP contractually.
What are FinDock PayLinks?
FinDock PayLinks are secure, trackable, auto-generated payment links you can share by email, SMS, chat, or invoice. Payers land on a branded FinDock payment page, and the result updates the related Salesforce record automatically. PayLinks is a paid add-on.
What are FinDock Giving Pages?
Giving Pages are mobile-friendly donation pages built and hosted directly in Salesforce, designed for nonprofits that want to launch donation forms quickly without custom development.
Can FinDock take payments over the phone or by mail order?
Yes. FinDock supports MOTO (mail order/telephone order) payments, so call center and back-office teams can take payments securely without leaving Salesforce.
Can FinDock handle recurring payments and mandates?
Yes. FinDock manages payment schedules, direct debit mandates, and automatic retries for failed payments, keeping recurring revenue — subscriptions, memberships, or recurring donations — flowing without manual follow-up.
Reconciliation
3 questions
How does FinDock reconcile payments?
FinDock automatically reconciles payment notifications from directly integrated PSPs out of the box. Bank files, along with any PSP data that needs extra logic to match, go through Guided Matching, a configurable rules engine that finance teams can adjust to their own matching logic.
Can FinDock reconcile offline or invoice payments?
Yes. Offline payments, such as invoices paid by bank transfer, can be reconciled through bank statement matching, while PayLinks can be used to collect the online equivalent — both inside the same Salesforce view as online payments.
How does refund handling work in FinDock?
Agents view eligible payments on the customer record, select an amount and reason, and get instant confirmation from the processor. Finance sees the linked refund immediately and can apply its own eligibility rules on top of the processor's checks.
Payment recovery
3 questions
What is FinDock Payment Recovery?
Payment Recovery is FinDock's set of tools for handling failed and missed payments inside Salesforce. Every failed or missed payment is pulled into Salesforce with clear error codes and context, so teams know exactly what went wrong and which payments need attention, and can recover revenue without manual chasing.
How does FinDock recover failed recurring payments?
FinDock can automatically retry failed recurring payments and, when a retry isn't enough, generate a pre-filled PayLink and send it by email, SMS, or other channels so the customer can pay in a few clicks. Because FinDock is Salesforce-native, teams can use Salesforce Flow or Marketing Cloud to trigger these follow-ups at the right time on the best channel for each customer.
What options do customers have to resolve a missed payment?
FinDock gives customers several ways to resolve a missed payment — an automatic retry, a PayLink to pay online, or a switch to a new recurring payment plan or method. This flexibility helps prevent future failures while helping teams recover revenue more consistently.
Security, implementation & support
3 questions
Is FinDock secure and PCI compliant?
FinDock data is secured using Salesforce's platform security, and detailed PCI and security documentation is available on FinDock's Trust and Security page for teams that need to complete a security review.
Who implements FinDock?
Most customers implement FinDock through a certified Salesforce implementation partner. FinDock's own Expert Services team is also available to support complex projects or specific requirements alongside a partner.
What support is included with FinDock?
Standard Support is included with every FinDock license. Users can submit cases over the web, with response times defined in FinDock's published Service Level Standard.
