Our journey towards a frictionless setup is ongoing, and our latest enhancements show our commitment to this path. We’ve redesigned the entire setup experience to be more intuitive, aiming for the ultimate goal of enabling even the most complex configurations to be handled with more ease and confidence. This will allow the new partners to onboard more quickly and with fewer resources, getting to value faster.

Efficiency and intuition in FinDock implementation

With our new FinDock Setup we are trying to address three types of friction: task uncertainty, task complexity, and unclear system states.

To minimize uncertainty, we’ve leveraged the latest Salesforce Lightning Design System capabilities to provide a setup experience that feels familiar to consultants and admins. Much like the Salesforce Setup, the FinDock Setup is a unified, single point of entry for all FinDock settings. We also added in-context guidance throughout the enhanced setup to ensure users get the support they need, when they need it. This FinDock Setup uses dynamic notifications, descriptive headings and labels, inline help to support users along the way. Whether you are a new user or seasoned consultant, the new guidance is designed to clarify and facilitate your interactions with the FinDock Setup.

To tackle task complexity, we have redesigned the setup process to be more intuitive and standardized. Each settings page now uses common design elements, making configuration steps easier to understand and implement. Standardized user interaction across all setup areas not only reduces the learning curve but also provides a cohesive, hassle-free experience, while the streamlined settings navigation enables users to manage more complex tasks with less effort. This approach not only reduces cognitive load but also saves valuable time, allowing partners to focus more on customization and less on basic setup procedures. The result is a smoother, more intuitive journey through the setup process, designed to get partners up and running with greater speed and less effort.

To combat the friction caused by an unclear system state, we’ve made significant improvements to how FinDock Setup communicates configuration status.Installed packages are also now automatically activated as part of the setup process. Activating features such as payment methods is easier, and the setup provides informative overviews of overall configuration status. To top it off, we’ve also eliminated needing to manually deploy configuration changes. These are handled automatically as well.

Integrated support through FinDock Academy and Knowledge Base

FinDock wouldn’t be complete without good documentation. The FinDock Knowledge Base, home to our product documentation, is an essential tool for partners, developers and end users alike.

While content remains king, the usability of FinDock documentation contributes to the partner experience. That’s why we recently launched an all-new documentation platform with better navigation and search, improved visualizations, and a foundation for future development.

The knowledge base serves up concept and feature descriptions, detailed instructions, recommendations, and essential reference information. This content is now also more easily accessible through deep linking directly from the enhanced FinDock Setup.

The deep linking takes users to the FinDock Academy as well, another essential extension of the FinDock product. The academy is an online learning portal prioritizing the needs of partners and consultants.

Here, too, we recently launched a renewed user interface that streamlines the learner experience. The academy remains the youngest part of the FinDock offering, and we look forward to expanding our catalog of self-paced courses for all experience levels.
